The Edmonton Oilers once prevented Connor McDavid from giving his stick to Alex Ovechkin
Alex Ovechkin has an extensive collection of game-used hockey memorabilia from top NHL legends and superstars, including sticks from Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky, and Connor McDavid.
Acquiring a stick from McDavid was the toughest for Ovechkin, as the Oilers initially didn't allow him to hand over sticks but eventually agreed.
The reason why McDavid couldn't hand over his own equipment is unclear, but Ovechkin managed to obtain a stick from him several years ago. [ more ]
